John has always been fascinated with Asian culture. At the age of 10 he first became interested in the Martial Arts. At 16, he became interested in Asian Philosophy, a love that culminated in his earning a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy with an emphasis on Chinese Philosophy. He has practiced Tai Chi and Qigong for over 40 years.
After 25 years in retail operations management, John was seriously injured in a traffic accident. At the time he was not expected to survive. If he did, his ability to ever walk again was questionable. During an arduous rehabilitation, including having to learn to walk again, John utilized acupuncture and qigong as major components of his rehabilitation. Realizing he had survived the accident for a reason, he returned to school, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Professional Health Science and a Master's Degree in Oriental Medicine. John is a Nationally Board Certified Acupuncturist (NCCAOM Diplomate Acupuncture) and has dedicated his life to helping others.
Identifying strongly with trauma and pain, John also treats a wide variety of other diseases and disorders such as digestive trouble, anxiety/depression, colds and flu, just to name a few.
He was an Adjunct Professor at East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota where he taught for 21 semesters and currently runs an externship program for Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine in Bradenton.
Dr. John has also written three books, available on lulu.com; Daoist Internal Alchemy and Acupuncture Ling Gui Ba Fa - The Eightfold Method of the Sacred Turtle Stillness of Mind, Clarity of Spirit - Daoism and the Perception of Reality
